From 20 minutes to approximately an hours journey time will get you to a number of golf courses in the area. Most offer just 9 holes but there are a couple of 18 holes as well, although these can require the longer travelling time. One of our very thoughtful clients gave us his comments on several of the courses he and his wife played, in the summer of 2005:- GOLF D’ESPALAIS - 20 MINS (near Valence d’Agen) http://www.golfespalais.com • 9 hole course, Par 70, currently charging 20 Euros per person for an ALL DAY pass. • Greens good and well maintained. • Slightly challenging course in some areas, particularly the water obstacles, but pleasant to play on the whole. • A flat course which has proven suitable for beginners or experts. • Good bar and café area with a very friendly and helpful reception. • On Thursdays they offer a Seniors reduction of 16 Euros per person for the 55 and over. • Open all year round. • Free use of the driving range, putting green and practice bunker. (Bucket of driving range balls just 2 Euros) LES AGUILLIONS - 30 MINS (past La Francaise) • 9 hole course, Par 72, which is flat and very well maintained. • Quite a tight course with the 4th (Par 3) being particularly challenging. • This was recommended as the best in the area as its fairways are in pristine condition and the greens are ‘perfect’. • Currently costs 17 Euros for 9 holes and 23 Euros for 18 holes. • Open 7 days a week. ROUCOUS - 15 MINS (Sauveterre) • Challenging 9 hole course, PAR 70, and very hilly throughout. • Need to be very accurate off the tee. • Good all round course with reasonable fairways and good greens; true and fast. • Excellent clubhouse facilities including a restaurant. • Friendly helpful staff with good command of both English and German. • Currently costs 28 Euros and is open 7 days a week. AGEN BON ENCONTRE - 35 MINS • 9 hole course. Advanced booking advisable. Green fees on application AUCH - EMBATS- (approx 1 hour) • 18 holes, Par 67. • Very undulating course which can prove too taxing for some. • Strokes require thought and dexterity. • Prices approx 25 - 28 euros depending on the season. GOLF DE LAS MARTINES (approx 55 minutes) • 9 holes, Par 70 • A rural course which is a pleasure to play despite lots of water hazards. • Closed Tuesdays from Nov - April. • Costs approx 19 euros during the week. FLEURANCE - GERS (approx 55 minutes) • 9 holes, Par 70. • Open 7 days a week. • The back nine has different tee shots from the front nine giving the feel of playing a different course. • 18-19 euros depending on season GOLF D’ALBI - LASBORDES (approx 1 hour 15) • 18 holes, Par 72 • Private course rated one of the best 50 in France GOLF DE TOULOUSE - PALMOLA (approx 55 minutes) • 18 hole, Par 72 • Closed on Tuesdays • Championship course, rated 9th in best 50 French courses. • Each hole well lined with trees offering enjoyable challenge to every golfer. • Fees during week range from 40 – 48 euros dependant on season. MONTAL - near ROCAMADOUR (approx 1 1/2 hours) • 9 holes, Par 66 • An undulating golf course in an exceptional landscape. In terrace, the greens are very well defended by several bunkers. • Some banking fairways require technical and tactical skills. Tee-shot #5 hosts a view of St Laurent, Montal and Castelnau castles. • Costs approx 18 - 26 euros depending on season GOLF IN TOULOUSE - All will take between 1-1.5 hours to reach GOLF LATITUDES TOULOUSE-SEILH • North West of Toulouse • Superb International course with complex covering 90 hectares. • Red golf course = 18 holes, Par 72. Approx 32 euros. • Offers features to satisfy the most critical golfer. • The Par 5 number 17 is rumoured to have the most bunkers in Europe. • Yellow course = 18 holes, Par 64. Approx 27 euros. • Offers a tremendous range of Par 3 holes which require all of your concentration and accuracy. • Open 7 days a week. GOLF DE TEOULA • South West of Toulouse • 18 holes, Par 69 • Offers a blend of pleasure, skill and challenge. • Water hazards come into play on 6 of first 9 holes. • Back nine are superb, the water hazards replaced by oaks and eucalyptus • Fees are approx 28 euros in the week. GOLF DE TOULOUSE-LA RAMEE • South West of Toulouse • 18 hole course is not too tiring and pleasant to play. • Vast greens and fairways are well maintained. • An excellent golf course offering an ideal but not too taxing game. • Fees are 27.50 euros during the week. • Also offers 9 hole pitch & putt, Par 27. GOLF DE TOULOUSE - VIELLE • Located South East of Toulouse, only 7km from city centre. • 18 holes, Par 71 • A wooded and undulating well maintained championship course. • Accessible to all golfing levels. • One of the oldest courses in the Midi-Pyrenees. • Quite expensive at 40 euros during the week. GOLF DE TOULOUSE - ST.-GABRIEL • Located North East of Toulouse • 9 holes, Par 70 • Mix of plains and hills give an enjoyable mix. • Tremendous test for quality players and great fun for modest competitors. • Some its holes would not be out of place on a championship course. • Excellent clubhouse facilities too. • Closed on Tuesdays • 20 euros during the week
