"Warmest welcome awaits"
TripAdvisor Review by Ian F See on TripAdvisor here
Such a shame that we stayed only one night here. An exceptionally warm welcome awaited us. Located in large grounds, this old (but still functioning) water mill is an amazing property.
The mill house has beautiful rooms located above it...I must correct myself, our room was a suite... Large bedroom and open plan living area with kitchen and dining area.
We opted for dinner and breakfast, both of which were beautiful... Ask for the secret family recipe salmon...amazing..!
We stayed with our two dogs for just one night to break up a journey on way to Spain...I began t wish that we just stayed for at Le Moulin de Salazar for the whole 2 weeks.
Nice welcoming touches with our names (including our dogs) on the door and a welcome card... Nice touch to add to the very personal and warm welcome.

Just got home after another wonderful stay in Salazar. This time we needed some rest and recuperation - and we found it in abundance with this special place working its usual magic. We didn't go far - just some gentle visits to Lauzerte and the Sunday market in Montcuq. We slept well, we walked , we swam, we played some table tennis, we ate outside under the trees next to the swimming pool - and quickly found our spirits restored. This time we asked Paulette to cook some meals for us - what an absolute star she is! Her cooking is superb - easily the best meals of the holiday. We're going back to Salazar next year

"A gem of a holiday"
TripAdvisor Review by AlisonMa60 (Wolverhampton, UK) See on TripAdvisor here
I took my 81 year old mother for a holiday at Le Moulin de Salazar in early April. I had seen this beautiful old mill on the internet and thought how delightful it looked and decided immediately to book our holiday there. On arriving I could see immediately that photographs on the internet just do not do this lovely place justice, there is an ambience about it which can only be experienced and never just described.
It was late afternoon when we arrived and the owner Paulette was there immediately to greet us and help get our luggage up to our gite and I thought what a helpful and lovely person she was. We were made to feel so welcome right from the word go.
Our gite was light and airy with windows everywhere in which to enjoy the gorgeous views in and around Le Moulin de Salazar. I was pleased to have a bedroom with twin beds in it so that I could make sure that my mother was comfortable.
Le Moulin de Salazar has such a peacefulness about it and walking around the grounds and local areas was such a joy as well as spotting wildlife of many kinds.
Paulette helped us such a lot with her exhaustive knowledge of places to visit and which are the best restaurants to eat at if we felt like eating out. We enjoyed two barbeques outside in the evening while we were there even though it was only very early April which was such a bonus.
My mother and I decided to treat ourselves to a 'pampering session' as we were on holiday and we each had a full body massage which was totally wonderful and left us both feeling even more relaxed and as we were able to have this on site and then go and sit outside in the sunshine with a glass of wine which felt like true indulgence.
Although it was not hot enough to go in the swimming pool when we were there, it was just so relaxing to go and sit by the pool and relax and I imagine it would be fabulous on a day hot enough to go for a dip.
I will certainly return again to Le Moulin de Salazar and I thank Paulette and also her sister Michelle, who was visiting at the time, for their care and help during our stay.

"Our weeks stay."

What a delight Salazar turned out to be. Surroundings idyllic and peaceful and with the background sound of the mill race. Ideally placed for travelling around the Garone area, exploring the hill top villages. Definitely on our list to visit again.

"Fabulous family holiday"
TripAdvisor Review by Julia Y (Cannock, UK) See on TripAdvisor here
We've had another wonderful weeks holiday at Moulin de Salazar. The gites are clean, airy and have everything you need for your stay. We didn't do much cooking though between eating out at some fantastic restaurants around and enjoying Paulette's (the owner) cooking. The views from the gites are superb, I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony having an early morning cup of tea watching the birds swoop over the river. Barbeques in the evening are a must, with plenty of sites around the grounds to pick either a secluded romantic spot or a table for a bigger group. We ate out at the Moulin de Moissac, the Auberge de Miramont and the Florentine in Moissac, all exceptionally good local food, the Auberge and the Florentine being particularly good with our 4 year old. Paulette is always very helpful and recommends restaurants and books them if your French isn't perfect (like ours). Back at Salazar we enjoyed playing, paddling and fishing on the beach and exploring the surrounding area (I have swam in the pool by the beach before but was a bit too early in the year for that!!!). Really relaxing holiday with plenty for our little man to do and quiet and romantic in the evening for my husband and I. Can't wait to visit again soon.
